Independent Advocacy is sometimes referred to as 'crisis' advocacy or 'paid' advocacy. All these descriptions are correct in one way or another.
It results in a paid/professional advocacy worker supporting a person to help them 'speak up' for themselves or represents their views for them.

Dewis C.I.L. employs independent advocacy caseworkers who can act as 'independent' advocates for a person who is referred to us.
