I also have 3 children who I adore and have been a full time carer to my partner who has bipolar disorder type 2 so have gained a lot of transferable skills which I would love to help other people with , I really feel I have the experience to make a difference in someone's life. I have helped my partner and many others move forward and know I can replicate for anyone else.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person?

Patience, compassion, empathy and a abilitie to instil a feeling of hope towards the future and the know how to make it happen. You always have to be calm and positive when things ain't great but supportive and reliable to help them move forward. I have great experience helping my partner through difficult times and am certain I can replicate this within this role.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person?

I'm a strong confident person who knows how to instil these qualities in others around me. I have made my partners life better, my neighbour who is struggling with alcohol, anxiety and depression related issues, countless kids who come to our club with issues such as bullying, confidence etc. My children are strong and confident and I've always been the type of person who my friends,/family come to for advice, I feel you are born like this you cannot learn it so would love the opportunity to better someone's life.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you?

I would relish the chance to put a smile on someone's face who maybe having a bad day. Work with them to make a difference in their lives, to me that's better than a massive pay check.
