Having worked as a senior care assistant for 5 year I feel I have the knowledge and understanding of what it takes to be a PA. I am a very patient person and enjoy seeing people happy. I would class my self as a happy go lucky kind of person who always puts other people’s need before my own. As a mother of 3 I have an understanding of how life can be challenging at times but always do my very best to succeed and achieve my goals.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person?

I think it’s very important to support the clients to enable them to live from day to day. To support and encourage people patiently. Take time to listen and understand what they want form life. Always treat the client with dignity and respect.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person?

By giving the client a sense of independence that will help build their self-confidence and make them feel more empowered, positive and fulfilled in life.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you?

I enjoy seeing people living their lives to their full potential. And knowing I have contributed towards this make me a happy person.

What are your hobbies/interests?

I enjoy spending quality time with children and I also enjoy horse riding
