Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I worked as a personal assistant for 5 years, since becoming a personal assistant Ive had experience working with individuals who have: Sensory Loss, Learning Difficulties, Epilepsy, Autism e.t.c. Whilst working as a personal assistant Ive completed a level 3 diploma in Health and Social care, and have training in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Emergency First Aid, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion and moving and handling passport modules C D & F.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Im highly motivated, punctual and responsible with good communication skills and social interaction. I believe whilst working with individuals in their homes confidentiality and privacy is of the up most importance. Having been a house wife and a mother to three children for twenty plus years I am well versed in nurturing, understanding and domesticated skills. Im organised and flexible and also work well under pressure.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): Due to my compassionate and caring nature I believe I can provide support and the care needed to help an individual grow and become more independent within their own home and in a social environment. Providing safety and guidance to the best of my ability while also understanding people have the right to make their own choices.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Being able to help, support and care for people who need a little extra help from time to time to gain independence and social interaction is both rewarding and job satisfaction.
What are your hobbies/interests?: my hobbies include swimming, shopping, cinema and chilling with my family to name but a few but my passion is cooking.
