I have worked in various industries, I am alevel 3 Nursery Nurse so understand about some disabilities people may have and how to support them.
My elderly mother was recently hit by a car and i had to go and live with her, I had to do everything for her from personal care to cooking meals, she since told me that the most important thing at that time was company. Doing this made me realise I would love to do this as a profession

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person?

I know how important confidentiality is.

To encourage the person to reach their potential.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you?

It would give me great pleasure to help them to maintain their current independence and the quality of life they have.
An elderly person shouldn’t have to avoid doing something or stop doing something they enjoy just because arranging something has become difficult, or getting there is hard, I can help.
It would be a very rewarding job.

What are your hobbies/interests?

I enjoy spending time with my 83 year old mother, she can be difficult at times but love taking her out.
In my spare time I make greeting cards, wedding stationary etc. I love being creative.
I love walks with my little dog as well as spending time with my Grandchildren.
