Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. *: I am currently a self employed Housekeeping! home help, but due to the current situation I do not visit as many clients as I did. My duties involved Housework, some cooking, shopping, chatting and support. Having somebody who is reliable, supportive and punctual but also respects someones privacy,and independence , and works within those boundaries to create mutual respect whilst working I feel is essential.To understand the importance of dignity and respect is vital when working so closely with somebody and helping with their personal care. I have recently done a course in Manual handling through the NHS. also a half day foundation people handling course. I am a kind supportive person, a great listener, always wanting to help. I have a full driving licence and am able to adapt to what is right for each individual person as no 2 people are the same. Ive brought up 3 children of my own, we all live together, have different lives and we all play our part in trying to live together in a way that considers everybody within the home. Were not perfect but are aware of respect and boundaries within the household. I really hope you will consider me for the role and I look forward to hearing from you. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? *: I believe respect, trust, dignity, listening empathy support reliability confidentiality are the most essential qualities when working as a personal assistant.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? *: I feel I am a very caring person who is respectful of others. I always listen consider peoples needs and try to appreciate and understand what is important to them. I am. dependable and can be relied upon to provide the level of care and need that is appropriate to the requirements of each individual person. I am friendly and supportive with a real interest in helping others.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? *: Working as a PA appeals to me as you get a real sense and understanding of the person your working for, their particular needs, and what works best for them. Seeing the whole person and being a source of help. and support within their boundaries build a real sense of trust and mutual respect between both parties.
What are your hobbies/interests?: My hobbies and interests include spending time with my family, coastal and country walks. I love to try out new recipes and cakes at home. I am. Interested In perhaps learning a new language (Spanish). Most of my life has revolved around caring for my family,sharing a common interest in Theatre, cinema and days out. The zoo always a keen favourite. I would like start on visiting all of the uks coastlines, and places of interest. I had begun on this journey, but at present with the circumstances it has been put on hold.
