JOB DESCRIPTION  

        Part-time Personal Assistant 

 

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 

  

25-year-old male living in the Penylan area requires a personal assistant to support him out in the community to activities he enjoys and to maximise his independence. 

 

He is diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and Epilepsy and has learning difficulties.  He lives alone but has support from his personal assistants and is looking to recruit another PA to support him on Saturdays 

 

HOURS OF WORK 

 

9am to 7pm every Saturday 

 

 

 

RATES OF PAY 

 

£9.00 per hour  

 

 

TASKS INVOLVED 

 

  • Support out in the community to activities he enjoys, he loves sport and going to different places.  He will be able to tell you where he would like to go that day and loves to watch football locally.  
  • Support with making meals 

 

 

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED 

 

  • Reliable, committed and punctual 
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy 
  • Trustworthy and efficient 
  • Would ideally like someone who has similar interests (loves sports) 
  • Non-smoker 
  • Driver is essential 
  • Understanding and experience working with Autism is desirable. 

 

 
 

 

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. 

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority)
