Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

38-year-old lady living in Llanishen area requires a personal assistant to support her to maximise her independence. She is a mother of 3 children and is looking for someone who will support her with day to day tasks that she may find difficult. She has MS and poor mobility. The carer would need to be flexible with the tasks that they support her with as it will depend on how she feels on the day.  

HOURS OF WORK

Mon to Fri- 8.30am to 10am (1.5 hours) to help with the school run, getting up, personal care, dressing.

12.30 to 1.30pm (1 hour)- to help with lunch preparation, tidy and wash dishes, help with toileting needs and related personal care.

Mon, Tues & Thurs- between 4.30 and 5pm- (1.5 hours)- to pick up the children from school and help create a family meal

Wednesday- 2.30pm to 6pm- (3.5 hours)- support with shopping then pick up the children from school and help create a family meal.

Friday- between 4.30 to 5pm (2.5 hours)- help pick up the children from school, help facilitate family time and help with family meal. Also prepare sandwiches for the next day’s lunch.

Mon to Sun- between 8 and 9pm (30 mins)- Evening calls to help with personal care and any continence care, getting GB ready for bed.

Weekends:

Sat and Sunday- 12.30- 3.30 (3 hours)- Support with getting up, personal care, meal prep, domestic work.

 

Total hours= 32.5 hours p/w

 

RATES OF PAY

£8.85 per hour

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
