JOB DESCRIPTION 

Personal Assistant 

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 

 

Personal assistant is required for a 80 year old lady in living in Cyncoed, Cardiff.   

 

She has Parkinson’s Disease, curvature of the spine and is non-mobile.  She likes watching TV/ films, chatting and has a pet cat called Otis.  

 

PURPOSE OF JOB 

 

To support at home, alongside daughter who is also her main PA as all hours are double handed.  

 

HOURS OF WORK 

3.5 hours per day broken down as- 

1 hour- Morning 

45 mins- Lunch time 

1 hours and 45 min for tea and bedtime 

 

Every day except a Friday evening which is covered by agency staff. 

 

The hours can be split between more than one PA.  

 

 

 

RATE OF PAY 

 

£9.65 per hour 

  

 

TASKS INVOLVED 

Tasks may include assistance or support with the following: 

• Personal care 

• Dressing, undressing 
• Moving and Handling, using hoist and other aids (training will be required) 
• Meals and preparation 
• Social outings, community activities 
• Shopping 

• Hospital appointments 
• Household duties 
• Any other reasonable task

ABOUT THE JOB 

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
