I am looking for a relief personal assistant to cover Annual leave and sickness. I have a good sense of humour and am good natured. I do take a little while to get used to people but when I do I am very chatty. I have had a stroke which has restricted me physically and left me with little use of my left side i also have a spinal injury and I am a wheelchair user. The care will take place in my home. PURPOSE OF JOB To provide me personal and nutritional and daily care. PLACE OF WORK My home HOURS OF WORK 24.5 a week = 3.5 hrs a day times to be discussed as calls will be Breakfast, Dinner, Tea and Bedtime. RATE OF PAY £9.30 and Bank Holiday double time. TASKS INVOLVED Meal Preparations, drinks Assist with toileting care Transferring from Wheel Chair to commode Checking that manual handling equipment has no damage and remains functional Prompting of Medication Tidy Kitchen and dispose of all rubbish TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone Who Likes A Challenge, and preferably has a manual handling certificate(if not training will be provided)Also to be aware of how my disability affects me. Someone who is aware how his disabilities affect him daily and needs to be confident, social, and reassuring ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
