CDP1237 Relief Personal Assistant to Adult Quote ref: CDP1237 Relief on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 44-year-old lady requires a personal assistant to support her to maximise her independence. She currently lives in St Fagons, Radyr. She is looking for someone who is quiet, caring and understanding and can follow written guidance notes/ daily instructions independently to do duties to help with her daily care. It is essential to be an excellent communicator and fluent in English (written and verbal). She has ME/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and has some limitations with a back/ pelvis condition and anxiety. An understanding of these conditions and/ or willingness to learn about them is preferred. HOURS OF WORK 2 ¼ hours, one weekday per week ongoing plus holiday and sickness cover for up to 11hours 45 mins p/w during weekdays when required. Days/ times to be discussed. RATES OF PAY £9.30 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Preparing and cooking meals in accordance with dietary advice Assistance with changing bed linen/ laundry Personal care- partial assistance with bathing/showering including washing hair. Assistance with phone calls/ correspondence TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Reliable, committed and punctual Understanding of confidentiality and privacy Trustworthy and efficient Excellent listening skills, fluent in English Quiet, caring and understanding personality Due to Multiple Chemical Sensitivity condition (M.C.S) associated with M.E/C.F.S, applicants must adhere to not wearing any chemically based fragrances on their person or clothes (i.e. including hair products, deodorant, perfume, washing powder, fabric conditioner) A non-smoker from a non-smoking household is also essential for the above reason Able to work in a household owning a cat and a baby Preferred qualities Understanding of the possible needs of a person with M.E/ C.F.S, back condition and anxiety First aid and food hygiene qualifications Flexible ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
