JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistants

GENERAL INFORMATION

Personal assistant needed to assist a lady with learning disabilities and to help her live independently by assisting in the hours and attending appointments.

The ideal personal assistant would need to be aware of diabetic needs and diets.

Assistance is needed to help with meal preparation, taking her out in the community and attend various activities.

They will also need to prompt with medication.

PA will also be required to support the service user whilst they go on holiday. You will be expected to carry out the same level of care whilst away on holiday.


HOURS OF WORK

16 hours per week.
1 Night shift.

RATE OF PAY

£8.91 per hour.
£62.64 per night shift.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE


• Assisting with domestic chores within the hours.
• Prompting with medication.
• Preparing food and drinks.
• Assisting with accessing community.
• Finding activities for her to do.


TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Responsible and reliable.
Must be honest and trustworthy.
Caring and friendly.
Car driver (preferred).

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
