I have autism and learning difficulty. I also have a chromosome defect. I need support to get out and about. I am very active and lively and I'm a very happy child. If you are providing support to me, you will need to be physically fit as I can run off and have no sense of danger. I like going swimming, trampolining and soft play but I need to do these activities when it is quiet as I do not like crowds. When working with me, you will need to use your initiative to keep my interest, otherwise I will want to go home early and my foster family will not get the break that they need. I also like going for a drive. PURPOSE OF JOB To assist me in accessing the community. PLACE OF WORK You will work in and around the local community, near to my home. HOURS OF WORK A 4 hour block, at times to be agreed over the weekend. RATE OF PAY£9.05 per hour. TASKS INVOLVED • Helping me to access the community, whilst ensuring my safety.• Assistance in the toilet may be required on occasions. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED • Reliable and conscientious• Physically fit• Similar leisure interests• Able to ensure my safety at all timesAble to respect privacy and confidentiality of me and my foster family ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
