CDP1470 Personal Assistant to Child Quote ref: CDP1470 on application form Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF The Service User is a 13 year old girl living in the Riverside area of Cardiff. She has autistic type tendencies and is currently awaiting diagnosis. She has a learning disability and is globally delayed in her learning and understanding and has no insight into risk or danger. She has no vocabulary and does not use PEC’s she uses gestures sounds and expressions to make herself understood. Lack of communication can cause her to become frustrated and will need distraction and re assurance during these periods. She is incontinent and will need help to manage her continence needs, changing her pad and attending to her personal care afterwards. She is a contented and happy child who loves being outdoors. PURPOSE OF THE JOB To provide support with personal care. To help support accessing community and taking outdoors. HOURS OF WORK 4 hours per week can be flexible, to be discussed at interview. RATES OF PAY £9.55 per hour TASKS INCLUDE Support with continence needs, changing her pad and Attending to her personal care afterwards. Supervising the child at all times. Taking the child outdoors Ensuring that the child is safe at all times. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Must have access to a vehicle and hold a full driving license. The use of your vehicle will be required for this role. Must be reliable Must be flexible Must be patient Experience in a similar role is desirable. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
