I had a brain injury 27 years ago due to what has been documented as a previous aneurysm and brain haemorrhage and having since this time developed epilepsy. PURPOSE OF JOB The purpose of the job is to support me to go out in the community which will enable me to build my social skills and confidence. PLACE OF WORK Outside in the community. HOURS OF WORK 9 hours a week. RATE OF PAY £9.30 per hour. TASKS INVOLVED Supporting me to go out and assist with building social skills. The things I enjoy - Shopping - Cinema - Going on short walks - Going to the garden centre - Museum TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who is calm and patient and uses their initiative, I have a brain injury so someone who is familiar with my condition would be an advantage but not essential. A driver with their own car is required. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
