I am a boy and will be 13-years-old in December. I have learning disability and currently going to Woodland high school. I’m very social person talkative and would like people to talk with me and tell me stories. Usually, I enjoy food, messy playing, walking in fields and outdoors. I usually process any order slowly and takes some time to listen to you when you ask me to do something. Sometimes, I become naughty and enjoy putting other people in stress, so it is important that you are calm at all times. PURPOSE OF JOB To help me access the community, where possible so that my family can receive some respite. PLACE OF WORK The job is based in Pentwyn and will require the PA to take me out and about within the local area. HOURS OF WORK I am allocated 9 hours per week but this increases to 15 during the school holidays. Hours and times can be mutually negotiated once you are successful in obtaining the role. RATE OF PAY £9.65 per hour. TASKS INVOLVED Helping me access the community. Keeping me safe at all times. Prompting me to use the toilet and providing any assistance needed. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED The successful applicant will need to be calm. Honest and trustworthy. Reliable. Happy and cheerful. Flexible and adaptable. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata).
