CDP1702 Personal Assistant to Child Quote ref: CDP1702 on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF The Service User is a 9 year old boy in the Adamsdown area of Cardiff who requires support in accessing the community to develop his social skills. The Service User has a diagnosis of high functioning autism and some behavioural issues. PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Service User is an active child, and would like some support in socialising and accessing the community. The purpose of the role is for a personal assistant to collect the child from school one day after school and accompanying him to attend activities in the community. HOURS OF WORK 6 hours per week- pick up after school; 3pm- 6pm An extra 12 hours per week will also be available in the School holidays. RATES OF PAY £9.66 per hour TASKS CAN INCLUDE Supervising the child at all times Escorting the child to activities in the community Enabling the child to access social activities Ensuring that the child is safe at all times Transporting the gentleman to places in the community TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Must have access to a vehicle and hold a full driving license. The use of your vehicle will be required for this role. Must be reliable Must be flexible Must be patient Experience in a similar role is desirable. ABOUT THE JOB This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
