CDP1784 Female Personal Assitant to Adult Quote ref: CDP1784 on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistants GENERAL INFORMATION Personal assistant needed to help elderly lady with daily living tasks in Canton. The elderly lady has become socially isolated due to CV-19, has a great sense of humour and enjoys others company but struggles with daily living tasks due to increasingly limited mobility and has reduced eyesight due to cataracts. Personal assistant needed to assist with preparing meals throughout the day, prompting with medication and general support around the home. Currently the elderly lady receives support from family and maintains her independence with dressing herself and personal care. However, as her mobility deteriorates and her relationship builds with her personal assistant, it is expected she will eventually accept/require assistance with personal care. Due to the eventual need for personal care, the personal assistant would need to be female. HOURS OF WORK Please note - the client is very flexible on the days and times she receives support. Currently she does not want lunchtime support but this may change over time. Hours can be discussed at interview stage and agreed with the successful candidate. Any changes to hours in future will be agreed in advance by mutual consent. Support has been agreed for 12.25 hours per week: 7x 45 min calls (morning) 7 x 30 min calls (lunch) 7x 30 min calls (evening) Please note – you will not be expected to carry out work seven days per week. The employer will discuss the pattern and times of calls. RATE OF PAY £9.70 per hour. TASKS CAN INCLUDE . Providing meals and drinks and snacks. Prompting with medication. Support with reading/filing letters (due to reduced sight) General household duties support (i.e. Checking windows are closed, picking up items client may have dropped, changing clock batteries, washing up & Laundry etc) Support to avoid social isolation (Having a cup of tea and a chat) Eventually assisting with personal care, including washing, and toileting care TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Caring, friendly and chatty Responsible and reliable Must be honest and trustworthy ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
