Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

Personal assistant is required for a lady in her early 40’s living in Gabalfa, Cardiff.   

She is affected by a condition that affects the body’s connective tissue. This makes it painful to stand, sit, walk, write/type, talk and eat. As a result, lying down and resting through the day and pacing/ planning is needed. 

Some of her hobbies include hydrotherapy physio pool walking, thinking of all the things she would like to do, observing the world go by and capturing these precious moments.

PURPOSE OF JOB 

To support at home, out in the community and provide respite for her husband. 

2 PAs will be required for this job as it is 7 days a week support. 

HOURS OF WORK

11 hours and 45 mins a week broken down as:

8.30 am to 9am x 7 days a week 

11.30am to 12.15pm x 7 days a week 

2.30pm to 4pm on a Tuesday and Thursday to attend hydrotherapy physio pool 

RATE OF PAY

£12.80 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

Tasks may include assistance or support with the following: 

  • Personal careIncluding assisting applying Orthoses: supports, applying pain relieving machine 
  • Dressing 
  • Meals and preparation 
  • Social outings, community activities 
  • Shopping 
  • Household duties

  • Reliable/Punctual 
  • Considerate/Caring/Trustworthy 
  • Proactive 
  • Due to her condition she doesn’t see many people so she needs someone that’s encouraging/positive 
  • Experienced/Training provided, condition of employment 
  • Non-smoker

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
