JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an easy-going gentleman in my mid 50s, living in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff. I live with my wife and we’ve known each other over 20 years. I have Huntington’s disease and need support getting out and about and socialising. I enjoy music, cinema (especially horror films) and going to the pub for a couple of pints! If you like doing these things, then this is definitely the job for you. I’m equally happy going for a coffee or a trip out to the seaside, playing slot machines et cetera. Please be aware I am a smoker and we also have 4 cats in the house!

PURPOSE OF JOB

To help me access the community and maintain my relationship with my wife, whom I love very much.

PLACE OF WORK

Assisting me both at home and out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

I have six hours a week available which I can use very flexibly, ideally in two or three hour blocks. Please state your availability within the application form.

RATE OF PAY

£9.65 per hour.

TASKS INVOLVED

Assisting me to act as the community as described above
Helping my wife with domestic tasks, so she is free to assist me when the PA is not around.

Full driving licence with no serious convictions and access to a car.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
