I am friendly and have a good sense of humour. I love popular, jazz and classical music, follow football and reality tv shows, and watch good documentaries on current affairs. I also enjoy cooking and used to have my own wine business. I enjoy chatting to new people and tend to get on with young people well. I live alone in the St Mellons area, and have a little elderly dog who is very sweet and goes out with a dog walker every day. My wife and I are separated but still have much contact and she helps to support me. I have quite a lot of health and mobility problems and anxiety. I stay in my home most of the time and need assistance with daily activities such as food preparation and routine household tasks. I have a lift in my home so can get upstairs and see to my personal care myself, although I do use a commode downstairs. PURPOSE OF JOBI need support with daily household activities within my home. I may need some help with dressing at times. PLACE OF WORKI need support in my home in St Mellons. I may need help in getting to medical appointments if my ex-wife is unable to take me but this can be by taxi and wheelchair, so driving or access to a car is not required. HOURS OF WORKI have 14 hours a week of support agreed, which I can use flexibly. I would need two personal assistants to cover the hours and one another. RATE OF PAY£9.70 per hour TASKS INVOLVED • Preparation of food• Routine domestic tasks• Daily emptying of commode • Occasional help with dressing TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Essential qualities • Friendly and polite• Able to accept me as I am • Willing to treat me and my home with respect• Reliable and punctual Desirable qualities • Similar interests ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
