JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

90 year old lady living in Radyr, Cardiff requires a personal assistant to support her with day to day tasks.

She is a sociable person who enjoys engaging in group activities such as the Forget Me Knot Choir that she attends in Thornhill once a week. She enjoys scrabble and similar games but requires support from someone who is able to initiate discussion and be creative in their approach to supporting her to ensure that she is stimulated.

She requires support to access the community due to general frailty and lack of confidence to access the community independently. This might include visiting café, local attractions, appointments and activity groups. When travelling short-distances she is able to mobilise with use of a zimmer frame.

While receiving support she would need assistance to prepare meals (gluten free) and possibly require prompting to take medication.

HOURS OF WORK

5 hours per week

Working hours are flexible and to be negotiated with service user and her daughter.

There might be occasions when a temporary increase in support will be required as respite to provide daughter with a break from providing informal care. However, this would be discussed in advance.
