CDP377 Personal Assistant to Adult Quote ref: CDP377 on application form Apply here JOB DESCRIPTION Part-time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 25-year-old male living in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff requires a personal assistant to support him to maximise his independence outside the home/ university to activities that he enjoys. He has a physical disability and is a wheel chair user. He is sociable and enjoys hobbies such as Boccia, going to the cinema, listening to music, football and other sports. HOURS OF WORK Wednesday-1pm to 5pm Thursday-9am to 4pm Total-11 hours Possibility of more hours to be used flexibly (to be discussed with the employer) Hours may change in the New Year due to the University timetable (Thursdays will change to a Tuesday). RATES OF PAY £9.35 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Support out in the community to activities he enjoys Support with personal care (toileting, dressing) Support with lunch TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Reliable, committed and punctual Understanding of confidentiality and privacy Trustworthy and efficient Confident/ proactive Friendly and chatty Manual handling training will be required Car driver ABOUT THE JOB The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
