I have autism and I am epileptic. I haven’t had a seizure in a while but when I do, if it last for 5 minutes or longer I will need to go to hospital. I can normally come around within 30 minutes and will rest at home. I can’t feel a seizure coming on so I will need someone to be with me at all times. I am a bubbly person who enjoys walking and anything energetic. I enjoy going to pedal power, jump and if it is a nice day going to the park. PURPOSE OF JOB To allow me to take part in activities out in the community. PLACE OF WORK At home and out in the community. HOURS OF WORK Relief to cover long term sick. 24 hours per week. Monday 8am to 4pm. Tuesday 8am to 4pm. Wednesday 8am to 4pm. Or Tuesday 8am to 4pm. Wednesday 8am to 4pm. Thursday 8 to 4pm RATE OF PAY £9.55 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Because of my autism I can’t be left alone, to ensure my safety at all times. No personal care required, however I will need supervision when using the toilet. I like to go swimming, attending pedal power, to the park and to soft play. I have lunch prepared on a Monday and Tuesday, Wednesdays I like to go out for lunch. I have a timetable of activities so I never run out of things to do. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Somebody patient and understanding of my condition. Someone calm and friendly. Preferably a car driver and car owner. Epilepsy and medication training will be required. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
