CDP473 Personal Assistant to Child Quote ref: CDP473 on application form Apply here JOB DESCRIPTION Relief Personal Assistant GENERAL INFORMATION Personal assistant needed for a young boy who has autism, living in the Pentwyn area of Cardiff. The personal assistant would need to accompany him when going out and accessing the community. He likes going to play centres and parks and generally likes being out and about in the community. The ideal personal assistant would just need to show companionship with him and generally keep an eye on him as he can be over friendly to strangers and needs to be prompted to wash hand and clean after using the toilet. Previous experience with working with children and a knowledge of autism is preferred. This is a relief post and hours will be worked to cover the current carer / PA when she is off on annual leave. HOURS OF WORK 12 hours per week. The pattern of work will be worked out by the employer. RATE OF PAY £9.30 per hour. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Assisting in taking him to various places that he enjoys. Support and socialise with him. Assist with accessing the community. Prompting him with cleaning / toileting needs. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Kind and patient Car driver Fun and outgoing ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
