CDP593 Relief Personal Assistant to Adult Quote ref: CDP593 on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Relief Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a mature lady with Cerebal Palsy living in the Llandaff North area of Cardiff. I spend a lot of my time in my powered wheelchair. I will always tell you what I want for my lunch as my tastes are quite simple but I don’t like spicy foods and they don’t like me. I like my P.A’s to have lunch with me and I enjoy their company. I love to go out in my car, I also enjoy shopping and going to the theatre. I love socialising with my friends and I love listening to music, I also have a karaoke machine. PURPOSE OF JOB The main purpose of the job is to allow me to remain safe in my home and promote my independence. My personal assistant will attend appointments with me as I have occasional hospital appointments and occasionally I get a little tongue tied. I am an individual who knows what I like and I will always want to have input to decisions. PLACE OF WORK At home and out in the community. HOURS OF WORK Various hours available. Day and Night shifts to be covered. To cover annual leave and sickness. You may be required at short notice on occasions. RATE OF PAY Day Rate of £8.80 per hour. Night Rate of £80.24 per night. TASKS INVOLVED All aspects of personal care and dressing. Provide meals and have lunch with me. Companionship at home and in the community. Prompt medication. Emptying a super pubic catheter throughout the day and I have my night bag attached when I go to bed. Ensure I am always safe at home and out in the community. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who is friendly and patient and willing to complete a manual handling course. Someone who knows about my condition and is understanding of it. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
