The personal assistants are required to assist him with accessing the community and to take him to various activities. This is to improve his social, communication, and independent skills. He has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) so he can show challenging behaviour towards other children and his mother. He also has limited verbal communication. He also refuses to use public transport, so a personal assistant would be required to drive. HOURS OF WORK 6 hours per week (double handed) RATE OF PAY £9.11 per hour. TASKS CAN INCLUDE The personal assistants would be required to carry out the following tasks: Support with accessing the community. Support and engaging with social activities within the community. Drive him to various location around Cardiff. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
