Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a very active, self-employed, lady with health problems that include spinal injuries and arthritis that affects most of my body and especially my mobility. I use sticks and a wheelchair in the home, for work and all business and outdoor activities.

I have a very busy schedule of work and voluntary commitments in the Arts.  This involves meetings, seminars, conferences and sometimes concerts and visits to the theatre.   I also enjoy swimming sessions and gardening.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am seeking a personal assistant to join my team of carers.

Tasks include assistance with mobility, light domestic duties, dressing, and laundry etc.

The mornings will be statutory whilst other duties, including covering other members on annual leave, will be shared with another PA, based on a flexible day-to-day basis.

HOURS OF WORK

7+ Hours per week

I require personal care from 7.00-9.00am on a rota and 2 weekends a month. You will share these hours with my other Personal Assistants.

RATE OF PAY

£9.00 per hour

Person Specification

The applicant must:

  • Be alert, well-spoken, with a pleasant personality.
  • Be confident to socialise and mix with new people.
  • Be able to work as part of a team of Personal Assistants
  • Be able to work flexible and cover for other Personal Assistant when on Annual Leave.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.

TRAINING

The position is subject to references and a DBS (formally CRB) check. You will also be required to attend any other relevant courses that are appropriate to this position.
