Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a lady in my 40’s living with my family in the area of Mountain Ash and I have suffered a Brain injury in the past which sometimes makes me anxious about changes and new things. I have 4 small dogs at home and I adore them! They are like my fur babies!! I need to feel comfortable with someone to be able to gain trust and building relationships may take me a little longer. I have poor memory retention and visual impairment

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I currently have an agency in place but this doesn’t not help my anxiety as there is so many different people coming in and out of my family home. As soon as I get to know someone and feel comfortable-they leave.

HOURS OF WORK

Morning Call 1x staff, 45min, 7x days a week

Bed Call 1x staff, 30 minutes, 7x days a week.

Outreach 4hrs 1 x weekly

Total weekly hours-12hrs 45mins.

RATES OF PAY

£9.50 per hour plus mileage for social outreach call

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

  • Helping me with my morning routine
  • Support with showering / washing hair as needed and support to dry and dress in clean clothes each morning.
  • Helping me organise my bills and reading letters that I may not understand
  • Attend and drive me to appointments as I have poor memory retention
  • Help me change into my night clothes each evening.
  • Ensure bathroom is clean after use
  • Help me peruse outstanding goals related to dieting and exercise

ABOUT THE JOB

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
