Female Personal Assistant

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

I’m a woman in my early 60’s and I have early onset Dementia and posterior cortical atrophy. I live in Blaenrhondda with my husband.

I’m friendly and easy to engage with and hope to employ a PA to support me to maintain my independence as much as possible.

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

30 hours per week to be shared between more than one PA.

This will be a great opportunity for someone who only wants to work a few hours per week. Please indicate on your application your preferred hours of work.

 

Working patterns and shifts to be discussed with employer.

 

RATE OF PAY

 

£10.00 per hour

 

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

 

  • Supporting to access local activities, or going out for coffee
  • Personal care
  • Meal preparation and basic domestic assistance
  • Assisting me to mobilise safely around the house, or out in the community
  • Ensuring my safety at all times
  • Going out for walks in good weather
  • Swimming

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

 

  • An enthusiastic and friendly person is important
  • Good communication skills and patience is important
  • You must be confident to do personal care
  • A caring nature
  • Very important that you are dependable and reliable
  • Someone who I can confidently and easily build rapport with
  • A car owner/driver

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. My husband will be your employer. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
