I am a lady living in the Pontypridd area with my cat. I am a laidback person who is friendly and enjoys a chat. I enjoy going to the theatre and especially enjoy watching musicals; my favourite is Les Miserables. I like to watch pop shows too and recently went to see Paul Carrack from Mike and the Mechanics at St David’s Centre. I like lots of music, especially soul, rock and roll and country. I like doing crafty things such as knitting and I enjoy a trip to Hobbycraft.  I am a wheelchair dependent woman who can find some normal tasks to be very difficult. I need someone who is flexible and reliable to assist me.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I wish to employ a personal assistant to provide me with support and assistance.  I need help in my home, shopping and going out.  I need someone who enjoys housework and gets satisfaction out of a good job.

HOURS OF WORK

I have between 16-26 hours available which can be spread over the week.  The start and finish times to be agreed.

RATE OF PAY

Weekdays £9.20 per hour

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

  • To assist me with daily living difficulties
  • Light domestic tasks (washing, laundry, ironing etc.)
  • Assisting me with meal preparation
  • Shopping
  • Going out locally, attending appointments
  • Going to the theatre, concerts etc.
  • Assisting me to visit my family

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Someone who can use their own initiative is important
  • Someone who enjoys housework and does a good job
  • Someone who will provide personal care when necessary
  • A good sense of humour is essential
  • Someone who respect the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home
  • A person who can be flexible and reliable
  • A person with a positive commitment to this kind of work
  • Someone who would feel comfortable and relaxed working in my home
  • Car owner and driver is preferable
  • Must like animals
  • Experience would be an advantage

ABOUT THE JOB

I will be your legal employer so you will need a National Insurance number. Pay will be four-weekly by cheque and appropriate paid annual leave is given. There will be trial period involved and a police check will be necessary (which I will arrange).
