Personal Assistant 

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 

 

I am a very happy, young looking 39-year-old lady with a good sense of humour and I am non-verbal. I live with my parents in Porth, RCT, I have a severe learning disability and need all my daily living needs met by my parents and PAs including personal care. I currently have two PAs and I am now looking for a third PA to work 12 hours per week to keep me safe at all times and to accompany, support and encourage me to take part in a range of activities. I love music, touch trust, bowling, cycling, swimming, going to the local Gateway club and the discos they arrange and generally being out and about.  

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

 

To support me to maintain my independence when accessing day services and the local communityI also want a Personal Assistant who can assist me at home. *Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the job will be mostly supporting at home and in the community for the foreseeable future*  

 

 

HOURS OF WORK 

 

12 hours per week, to work as a team of three PA’s on a four weekly rota basis and needs to be flexible, extra hours would become available to cover other PA’s holiday or sickness. Hours are 9.30–3pm at day service, you will be required to work at least one weekend out of four, 10-4pm on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday, sometimes cover Gateway club 6.30-9.30 on Monday evening and sitting at home if needed 

 

RATES OF PAY  

 

£9.70 per hour weekdays, £10.30 per hour at weekends.  

 

 

 

 

TASKS CAN INCLUDE 

 

  • To be supported in day centre setting and attending activities from there. local community visits and sitting at home 
  • To support me in all areas of daily living – washing, dressing, feeding, toileting and to keep me safe at all times 
  • I need to be treated with dignity, patience and to respect my privacy and maintain confidentiality 
  • To ensure my wellbeing and personal safety at all times.

ABOUT THE JOB 

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
