JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 31 year old lady living with my family in the Rhydyfelin area of the Pontypridd.

I am visually impaired and as a result I have problems affecting my balance and hand/eye co-ordination.

I can walk unaided but would need help and guidance with where to walk when I am out and about and to be made aware of any obstructions. I can get disorientated in unfamiliar places but am ok once I get used to them.

I’ve also suffered with Mental Health issues since I was a teenager, which still affects me today.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I’m looking to employ a personal assistant help and support me to go out into the community and undertake social and leisure activities, helping to maintain me my independence.

This would involve meeting me at home and then travelling to the location of the activity either by public transport or in your vehicle, supervising me and ensuring my safety whilst I’m there and providing me with companionship to socialise out in the community.

I’m looking to do a variety of activities given the opportunity, be it going swimming, to the cinema, shopping trips to Cardiff or other places, some kind of craft activity/card making. I’m willing to also try new activities that may be of interest to me, possibly going to the gym as well.

Hours can be worked flexibly on any day other than a Wednesday. There will be 2 shifts per week.
