DPC1568 Personal Assistant Quote ref: DPC1568 on application form Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 9 year old boy, living with my family in the Tonteg area of Rhondda Cynon Taff. I have Autism which means I need some help, support and guidance at home and when I go out and about in the community. I attend school which keeps me busy during the week and I generally spend time with my family at weekends. I’m a happy young boy who likes to keep fit and active. I really like cars, football, playing on my Xbox and going out to eat. I also like going out walking and going to see horses with my grandmother. PURPOSE OF THE JOB My parents are looking to employ a personal assistant to take me to my swimming lessons in Cilfynydd every 2 weeks. This will involve collecting me from home and travelling to the swimming pool and supervising me to ensure my safety at all times. You wouldn’t be expected to swim with me or participate in the lesson but I would need support with dressing and drying at the pool. RATE OF PAY £9.00 per hour Plus Mileage Allowance (when applicable) HOURS OF WORK There are 3 hours every other week available. This will involve working with me one evening per week after school between Monday and Friday. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Taking me to my swimming lesson and bringing me back home Making sure I am safe out and about Helping me to get a snack or drink if needed Helping me with the toilet, drying and changing when we go swimming Providing me with companionship TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Driver with access to own vehicle Someone with a good knowledge of the local area Someone friendly and approachable, patient and understanding Someone flexible with hours of work ABOUT THE JOB Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a calendar monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to a satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer. Attending a Safeguarding Children training course is also compulsory for this post.
