JOB DESCRIPTION

SOMETHING ABOUT ME

I’m a young autistic boy living in Pontyridd area. I have ADHD and sensory processing disorder which doesn’t affect my mobility I’m very active. My interests include Ice skating, ice hockey, swimming, going to the park and when in the house I enjoy playing computer games. I’m very musical I enjoy listening to all types of music and having a go at playing instruments. My favourite mode of transport is buses and I know which bus and times to catch. When out in the community I enjoy eating out especially McDonald’s I need to be watched at all times as I have no awareness of danger. I am nonverbal but try hard to communicate.

PLACE OF WORK  

At clients home and out in the community

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To support me to do things I enjoy doing
  • To help be as independent as possible
  • To ensure I’m safe at all times
  • Prompt me to do things

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours a week to meet social needs in the community

RATE OF PAY

£8.80 per hour some mileage included

 TASKS CAN INCLUDE

  • Going to the park
  • Swimming
  • Travelling on the bus
  • going to McDonald’s

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • someone patient and understanding of my needs
  • outgoing and fun personality
  • own vehicle with business class insurance
  • experience of working with people with additional needs

ABOUT THE JOB

 The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK before you start work . Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly/fortnightly/ Monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.
