I am the eldest at 11 years old and my brother is 6 years old. I have a diagnosis of ASD, dyspraxia and learning difficulties. My brother has a diagnosis of ASD. I like to do activities like trampolining, bowling, playing Xbox and going to the cinema to watch Marvel and DC films. My brother enjoys construction activities and gets very excited when talking about animals to familiar adults. He also likes Minecraft and playing with his tablet. PURPOSE OF JOB To provide us with the opportunity to access activities in the community and to encourage our independence. Support will be needed out in the community weather permitted and within our home. HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per fortnight for each of us RATES OF PAY £9.00 per hour plus mileage for any journeys we take in your car. TASKS INVOLVED To help us be as independent as possible Accompany us to do things we enjoy Be patient with us when we try and express ourselves Encouragement so that we are not so isolated TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone reliable and punctual Someone outgoing and patient Experience of children with additional needs Ensuring our safety is a priority at all times Someone who is happy to encourage our interaction & independence Driver needed, access to own car with business class insurance in place ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
