Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 14-year-old boy living in Aberdare with my parents and siblings. I have Autism which affects the way I communicate with and understand people. I struggle with anxiety in social places, therefore find socialising very stressful. My interest are gaming, sports and fitness and football. PURPOSE OF JOB The purpose of the job is to create a calm environment to gain life skills and confidence independently from my family. You will support me to gain confidence around new people and social situations. HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per week Weekdays RATE OF PAY £10.00 per hour 40p mileage allowance when I am in the car with you TASKS INVOLVED Taking me to places that interest me, such as the gym and sporting activities Helping me to increase my fitness, for example coming running with me Helping me to get involved with a football club Supporting me to learn ways to cope with the world around me Supporting me to learn independence Reassuring me when I am not coping well Being able to identify my triggers and reacting appropriately and responsibly TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED A friendly, patient and understanding person is important Someone energetic, outgoing and fun You must be a motivator and have the skill to encourage me to enthusiastically get involved with activities An authoritative yet calm manner is important Someone who will put in lots of effort to get to know me as a person You must be open and enthusiastic about my interests Also take an interest in the activities we are doing and getting involved as much as possible ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. My mother will be your legal employer. The wage will be paid every month on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holiday. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS Check and Child Protection Training at no cost to you.
