Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an 11 year old boy living with my Mum and sister in Pantygraigwen. I am due to start in Hawthorn Comprehensive School in September. I have mild Cerebral Palsy. I mobilise pretty well, but have some difficulties at times. I am calm and relaxed, but like all children, sometimes have a temper tantrum.

I enjoy playing on the PlayStation, going to the park, McDonalds and the arcade.

When I go out and about, I am quite happy in most environments, and when I go in the car I like to look around and see what’s going on.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of the job is to take me places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times. Also, the time we spend together will provide my mum and sister some quality time together and provide them with some respite.

HOURS OF WORK

6 hours per week

Usually after school (late afternoon) and weekends, although during the school holidays there may be some daytime hours too.

There hours are to be flexibility used per week.

RATES OF PAY

£9.40 per hour plus 40p per mile for journeys we make together in your car

  • Someone outgoing and confident
  • Someone who is flexible and reliable
  • Someone who can suggest new things for me to get involved in
  • Someone that is happy to take me for a walk to the park to help me get some exercise
  • PA to be a sensible car driver, with own vehicle and business class insurance in place

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid on a monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
