Part-Time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a disabled lady in my 40’s living at home in the Barry area.

I have had a stroke which limits my mobility and means need some help and support with daily living tasks.

I am happy and outgoing and I love a good chat. I enjoy getting out an about socially, e.g. visiting family, shopping and going to college. I also enjoy computers and arts and crafts.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am looking to employ a personal assistant to help and support me around the house with day to day domestic tasks and some personal care and also to support me to go shopping and to get to college.

RATE OF PAY

£9.50 per hour (Weekday Rate)

HOURS OF WORK

There are 14 hours per week available.

These hours would be worked over three weekday shifts working 4 to 5 hours per day.

NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

I am adhering to all current UK Government and Public Health Wales guidelines around Covid-19. This includes when interviewing and carrying out tasks associated with this personal assistant position.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

  • Supporting me with personal care
  • Helping with some laundry, ironing, vacuuming and other light domestic duties when required
  • Supporting me to prepare a meal or snack
  • Making sure I am safe at all times around the house
  • Providing me with companionship
  • Supporting me to go out shopping for essentials
  • Supporting me to go to college

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Must be a driver with access to own vehicle
  • Someone who is friendly and happy to have a chat
  • Would suit a male or female applicant
  • Someone punctual and reliable
  • Someone who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home

ABOUT THE JOB

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check) which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK before you start work.

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a four weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.
