I have multiple sclerosis and use a wheelchair also I wear a back brace. I am also partially sighted. I am looking to employ a PA to enable me to continue to live independently. I have many hobbies and interests and like to keep my brain active! I really enjoy general knowledge quizzes and have an interest in history and rock music. I like good conversation, listening to the radio, books, films and animals. I have two little gerbils. I enjoy board games & card games and I do sometimes use a computer. PURPOSE OF THE JOB The purpose of the job is to provide me with daily support to help me maintain my independence. HOURS OF WORK I need a PA to cover from the 10th of Feb to 23rd of March The hours are Monday and Thursday 4 hours and Tuesday, Wednesdays 3.5 hours and Friday 2.5 hours. The starting time is between 8:30-9:00 am. RATES OF PAY £9.75 per hour TASKS CAN INCLUDE To assist with bed baths on Monday and Thursday To assist with dressing Daily emptying and cleaning of urine bottles To undertake all household tasks Read my post to me Laundry and changing the bed when needed and also make the bed Meal preparation Help me to interact with my gerbils TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED A person who respects and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality of working in someone's home A person with a friendly and easy-going manner Someone who is adaptable and flexible would be an advantage Someone who would support me but not take over Able to work independently and on their own initiative Someone with a good hygiene awareness Trustworthy, reliable and punctual Someone with a caring and responsible attitude ABOUT THE JOB This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
