Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a friendly lady living with my 2 sons in the Cowbridge area. I have M.E and so am therefore looking to employ a Personal Assistant to assist me at home with day to day tasks enabling me to remain independence. My condition fluctuates a lot – sometimes I am bedridden, at other times I can move around slowly but spend a lot of time resting. I am housebound the majority of the time. Sometimes I barely have the energy to talk or it is painful to speak due to severe sore throats, and I also suffer from hemiplegic migraines. I am looking for someone who understands and appreciates this. PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am looking for someone to help and prepare healthy meals and organise meal plans with me. Assisting me with household chores and cleaning and to keep my household running smoothly and help me maintain my independence. Occasional support for social activities may also be required. HOURS OF WORK 16 hours per week job share for 2 Pa’s Job 1- Sunday 10am-1pm, Monday 4pm-6pm, Tuesday 4pm-6pm, Wednesday 4pm-6pm Job 2- Thursday 4pm-6pm, Friday 4pm-6pm, Saturday 10am-1pm RATES OF PAY £10.25 including double pay on bank holidays TASKS CAN INCLUDE Preparing and cooking fresh meals Meal planning General cleaning after use of kitchen Domestic tasks as required – ironing, laundry, cleaning, cooking Shopping with or without if necessary Accompanying me out socially when required by using my car TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone-else’s home Someone who is confident with cooking Someone who has good understanding of food hygiene Someone who is able to meal plan and prepare meals with fresh ingredients Someone who can empathise and understands my condition Someone who is patient and quietly spoken A non-smoker and someone who doesn’t mind not wearing perfume as I am chemically sensitive A car owner / driver Knowledge and / or experience of M.E Someone flexible Someone non-judgmental ABOUT THE JOB Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a four weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to a probationary period and a DBS (Police) Check.
