Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a lady in my late 30’s living in Barry. I have anxiety, depression and I’m required to take insulin for my diabetes.

PLACE OF WORK

Mostly within my home, but sometimes in the community as required.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To continue to live independently in my own home and maintain it to my standard.

HOURS OF WORK

14 hours per week

Hours to be used flexibly, as when agreed from week to week

RATE OF PAY

£9.50 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Washing, housework, basic but healthy cooking, ironing
  • Shopping for me
  • Assisting when going out to doctor’s appointments

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • An enthusiastic and friendly person is important
  • Driver preferred but not essential
  • Experience in care work is not compulsory
  • You must have a keen eye for detail and take pride in your work
  • Someone who works to a very high standard

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. My mum will be your legal employer. The wage will be paid 4-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Business class insurance on your car is essential.

You will be required to wear PPE for this role, which will be provided for you.
