I have early onset Alzheimer’s which affects my memory and ability to carry out day to day tasks without support. I’m physically fit and active and like to have company and to spend time out of the house. I enjoy visiting local beauty spots such as The Knap, Cosmeston lakes, Porthkerry Park and Marine Drive. I’m a keen walker and I’m happiest when I’m keeping busy and active. Around the house I enjoy chatting and watching TV. I also like to potter in the garden and when I’m given instruction I like to get on with general garden maintenance. I have a support worker currently and we regularly go to pedal power in Cardiff which I enjoy. I am diabetic and regularly monitor my blood sugar levels and need to take insulin. As a result I need to be aware of my dietary intake too. I have a witty, dry sense of humour. I enjoy having a laugh and a joke but I’m not one to sit and talk for hours on end. I still socialise regularly with close friends who visit most weeks too. I’m a massive music fan. It has always been a big part of my life and I still enjoy listening to music regularly.
