VOG470 Personal Assistant Quote REF:VOG470 on Application Form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am looking to employ additional personal assistants to help and support me with daily living tasks within my own home, helping to maintain my independence. Occasionally I may also require support to go out into the community and I have my own adapted vehicle for this purpose. This will include helping me by preparing meals and assisting me with feeding, assisting me with some personal care, prompting me with medication and generally helping around the home. Alongside a second Personal Assistant, you will assist me when required with getting out of bed, transferring into my wheelchair, some personal care and breakfast in the morning. RATES OF PAY £9.50 per hour (Weekday) £75.00 per overnight (Sleep-in) HOURS OF WORK 2 Positions available Position 1 working: 2 day shifts & 2 nights per week Position 2 working: 3 day shifts & 1 night per week Shifts are worked on a rotating basis covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The daily shifts are: 8:00am – 3:00pm (7 hours) (8am – 10am working alongside another PA) 3:00pm – 10:00pm (7 hours) 10:00pm – 8:00am (10 hour Sleep-in shift) TASKS CAN INCLUDE Helping to get out of bed in the morning Helping to transfer me from my bed to my wheelchair Help with dressing Prompting with medication Preparing meals Assisting me with feeding Helping with Personal Care Helping to keep my house tidy, general domestic tasks Occasionally supporting me to go out into the community TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Must be a driver with access to your own vehicle Experience of working in a domestic care setting is an advantage Experience in Personal care and Manual Handling is an advantage A person who is dependable and arrives on time Someone flexible with hours of work Someone able to work alongside my other PA’s as well as on their own Someone who is confident and willing to undertake personal care tasks Someone friendly with a good sense of humour ABOUT THE JOB The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check) which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK before you start work. Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a four weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.
