Part-time Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m an elderly gentleman living in the Penarth area. I enjoy sports and used to work as a Press Photographer. My mobility is fine, I can walk short distances. I enjoy talking about my interests and past experiences of my career as a Photographer. I enjoy listening to all types of music. I have dementia and require a Personal Assistant to assist me to get out and do things I enjoy and help maintain my independence plus provide my wife some respite.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support my within my home and with accessing the local community. PA to support with helping me maintain my independence and provide my wife with some respite.

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours per week

 RATES OF PAY

£9.40 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Supervising me out in the community
  • Go for a coffee in Penarth
  • Go out for food
  • Ensure I am safe at all times
  • Sit with me and provide company around the house
  • Support with daily tasks

 TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

A to be interested in the Arts

  • Outgoing, bubbly personality
  • Enjoys music
  • Awareness of dementia and how it affects me
  • Someone who is sensitive and understanding of my condition
  • PA to ideally have a working knowledge of ICT to possibly help with photo organisation & with using my IPad.
  • PA to have full driving licence, own vehicle with business class insurance

 ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
