Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m 7 years old living in Sully by the sea. I have cerebral palsy and use a wheelchair to get around.  I like to laugh, spend time with my mummy and grandparents. My mummy takes me for regular walks, which I really enjoy.  I also love to go swimming and to soft play.  I am also pretty much obsessed with my tablet, which I use to watch my favourite Disney films.  I’d say one of my favourite things in the world is the music from these films; I love to listen to the songs over and over again!

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support my within my home and with accessing the local community. PA to support with helping me maintain my independence and provide my mother with some respite.

HOURS OF WORK

4 hours per week, hours could increase and more hours would be available during the summer holidays.

The hours can be worked after school or during the weekend.

Flexibility is an important part of this position.

RATES OF PAY

£9.50 per hour

  • Support me in the community and in my home

  • Encouraging my interaction & independence
  • Exploring different things I may enjoy

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Someone outgoing, confident and bubble
  • Someone who is flexible, reliable and trustworthy (this is an important aspect of the job)
  • Someone who has an understanding of my conditions
  • PA to be a sensible car driver, with own vehicle and business class insurance in place

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
