VOG589 Personal assistant JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 19 year old young lady living in Cowbridge with my mum and our pet dogs. I have a mild learning disability, dyspraxia and ASD. I am in college 3 days per week. My interests include cooking, arts and crafts, shopping, watching the Disney Chanel and Justin Bieber. PURPOSE OF JOB My mum is looking for someone to support me on the days I do not have college, taking me to classes and leisure activities of my choice. PLACE OF WORK Out and about in the community mostly. Occasionally at home, if the weather is bad or I don’t feel up to go out. HOURS OF WORK 15 hours per week (may include some weekend hours) Days and times to be discussed at interview. NB – Shift patterns are likely to change each week so flexible working is required, RATE OF PAY £9.00 per hour £0.40 per mile travel expenses TASKS INVOLVED Taking me to activities of my choice and suggesting new things for me to try. Supporting me to cross roads safely. Helping me to manage my money and pay for things. Ensuring my personal wellbeing and encouraging me to be independent. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Friendly and approachable. Reliable and trustworthy. Someone who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home. Someone with some shared interests would be an advantage. A full clean drivers licence and business class insurance. Someone who is able to be flexible with the hours they work as shift patterns are likely to change each week. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
