I describe myself as ‘liking to call a spade a spade’ and prefer people to be the same with me too. I think I am very easy to get on with (although I think my partner may disagree) and like to have a chat. I enjoy watching television, especially documentaries. I like to go to garden centres and shopping. I had a stroke 10 years ago which has affected my mobility. PURPOSE OF THE JOB I need Personal Assistants who can assist me with personal care and provide me with some company. I am looking for 2 PAs who can job share and do both/either the social support and the personal care aspect of my job. HOURS OF WORK I have 17 hours available. These will be split: 1 hour Monday-Friday at around 4pm and 1 hour on a Tuesday and Thursday morning at around 9am for personal care/company. I also have blocks of hours available for social support on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. There is a bit of flexibility in the times/days. RATES OF PAY £9.70 per hour TASKS CAN INCLUDE Assisting with showering and personal care, getting dressed etc. Providing companionship Taking me out socially to cafes or garden centres for example TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who respects that they are in my home and I am still in charge Female only due to personal care needs Must like dogs Car owner/driver Someone who assists rather than takes over Someone with common sense who can show initiative Someone friendly ABOUT THE JOB This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.
