Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 53-year-old man who lives with my 2 dogs and a ferret in the St Nicholas area. I would say that I am a friendly person who is pretty laid back. I love the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. I like going for walks in the woods and places like Porthkerry Park. I enjoy watching war films, comedy films and documentaries about animals, war, fishing and shooting. I particularly like watching Bear Grylls programmes as well as history programmes and my favourite is Mrs Brown’s Boys. I like playing chess and reading Mortal Kombat magazine. I also really like music, especially rock music and the old punk that I used to listen to when I was younger. I like Queen, Robbie Williams, the Eagles, Black Sabbath, The Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Blondie, Madness and Frank Sinatra. I am quite an anxious person who has memory loss associated with Korsakoff Syndrome. I can experience depression and can sometimes overthink things. HOURS OF WORK I have 8 hours to be used on a Tuesday and Wednesday. RATES OF PAY £11 per hour TASKS CAN INCLUDE Encouraging me to shower Encouraging me to be independent Supporting me to go shopping, to appointments etc. Assistance with paying bills and opening letters etc. Accompanying me out and about, walking the dog etc. Tidying around my flat Assistance with cooking TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who will not patronise me Someone who can encourage me rather than take over Someone laidback Someone who can cook and will encourage me to cook also Car driver/owner Someone who is caring Must like animals ABOUT THE JOB This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
