Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 22 year old young lady living the Barry area with my family; I have a cat and 2 rescue rabbits.  I am visually impaired and use a white cane and also use sighted guide.  I enjoy keeping fit, swimming, trampoline, shopping, nail/beauty, hair, cinema and bowling.  I don’t like some loud noises as they can frighten me and also fast rides at fairgrounds.  I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me in the community and to keep me safe.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am looking to employ a personal assistant to take me to help me access activities and keep me physically active.

HOURS OF WORK

There are 3 hours per week

These hours can be worked flexible

RATES OF PAY

£8.80 per hour, plus mileage allowance

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

  • Taking me to the cinema, swimming, trampoline park, shopping, doing girlie things like having hair done, nails done etc and ensuring I am safe at all times

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Someone who has experience working with someone who is visually impaired preferred but no essential
  • Non smoker
  • First aid certificate preferred
  • Someone who is chatty, funny and easy to get on with
  • Someone who will be sensitive to my needs
  • Someone who will be reliable as I like routine, patient, punctual
  • A driver with access to own vehicle is essential, but I also have a companion bus pass

ABOUT THE JOB

Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a calendar monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to a probationary period and a DBS (Police) Check.
